Dear Members,

I am happy to engage with you all and bring to the table a very important discussion for the growth
of the Plastics Industry i.e. Skill manpower. I will focus in this arena today

Recently I and the team of senior AIPMA members had a meeting with Hon’ble Minister Shri
Piyush Goyal – Minister of Commerce and Industry to create 1 crore job opportunities in Plastics
Processing Sector in the next 5 years. Although it is a very ambitious target given by the Hon’ble
Minister on a positive note it is a sign to show the strength and potential of our Plastics Industry.

AIPMA in its efforts is working very hard in the skill development arena through AMTEC as well
as in Skill Development Programmes. The growth in employment will be generated with input
          substitution of Plastics Products.

As you are aware India is importing Rs. 45,000 crores worth of finished products, if there is a barrier
put, Indian processors have to fill that gap, there will be a generation of employment. We need to
          pay for these products.

AIPMA is also talking to CPMA & CIPET seeking their support and cooperation in this area.
Recently, I was at CIPET, Chennai and had a very close discussion with Prof. (Dr.) Shishir Sinha
          – Director General, CIPET and Mr. John - National Head of Placement, at CIPET Headquarters.
AIPMA will be organising a meeting with 4000 candidates of CIPET virtually to give them the
guidance and their first-hand interaction with the Plastics Industry.

AIPMA also held a meeting with Rubber Chemical and Petrochemical Skill Development Council
(RCSPDC) in our Mumbai office and shall be taking up training programmes and upskilling
programmes by the professionals of the Plastics Industry in Gujarat and Maharashtra.

In our latest conference in Mumbai at Hotel Courtyard By Marriott, we had witnessed a young
audience of more than 50 young professionals who were enthusiastic to join the Plastics Industry
and they were looking up AIPMA for support and AIPMA will be helping them.

AIPMA has also completed the CSR fund in this direction to support the education and uplift the
plastics professionals through our AMTEC arm.

Our Plastics News Hon. Editor Mr. Rajiv B. Tolat is also exploring creating classified jobs
advertisements that will help the industry to find the right people and promote employment.

I am sure with all the efforts of AIPMA the growth of the Plastics Industry will be strong.

                                                                                 Thanking you,
                                                                             Kishore P. Sampat
                                                                          president@aipma.net
