THE PRESIDENT SAYS

Dear Members, Industry Colleagues, and Well-Wishers,

It gives me immense pleasure to connect with you through this edition of Plastics
News Magazine, as our association stands at the cusp of yet another milestone
          — the 2nd Global Conclave on Plastics Recycling & Sustainability (GCPRS) 17th-
          20th June 2025.

After the resounding success of our inaugural edition, the upcoming conclave
promises to be even more impactful. Our dedicated committees and task forces
have been working tirelessly to curate an agenda that addresses the most pressing
challenges and emerging opportunities in sustainable plastics management.
This year’s conclave will bring together global thought leaders, policymakers,
innovators, and industry champions under one roof to deliberate on circular
economy models, advanced recycling technologies, EPR implementation, and
          green design innovations.

We’re also pleased to announce the addition of focused panel discussions on
carbon neutrality roadmaps, bioplastics scalability, and global market trends
in recyclates. Special country pavilions and a start-up showcase will highlight
cutting-edge solutions from around the world. I encourage all stakeholders —
manufacturers, recyclers, converters, brand owners, and students — to actively
participate and contribute to this important dialogue.

On the international trade front, our association has been closely monitoring
recent policy developments, especially the revised tariff measures announced
by the United States Trade Representative (USTR). The updated tariff summary
includes adjustments on select categories of plastic raw materials and finished
goods, with implications for both imports and exports. While some relief has been
granted for recyclate-based products to encourage sustainable trade, certain
resin categories continue to attract higher duties.

AIPMA in coordination with the concerned ministries and allied trade bodies to
evaluate the potential impact on our domestic industry and explore opportunities.
We remain committed to safeguarding the interests of our members while
          promoting responsible, globally competitive practices.

In closing, I extend my sincere appreciation to all our members, partners, and well-
wishers for your unwavering support. Let us continue working together towards
a greener, more resilient, and forward-looking plastics industry.

Looking forward to welcoming you all at the 2nd GCPRS.

                                                                          Mr. Manoj R. Shah
                                                                       president@aipma.net
