          Pharma Bottle Made from 100% Recycled Plastic

          Bormioli  Pharma  and  Loop  Industries  have  unveiled  a
          groundbreaking pharmaceutical packaging bottle made with 100%
          recycled virgin-quality Loop PET resin, showcasing a commitment
          to  sustainability  within  the  industry.  The  collaboration  aims  to
          provide market-ready solutions that meet strict standards outlined
          by EU and US Pharmacopeia, offering a circular plastics economy
          approach while reducing greenhouse gas emissions. With rigorous
          testing  confirming  safety  and  quality  benchmarks,  the  innovative
          packaging solution sets a new standard for sustainable practices in
          pharmaceutical packaging.











          WASTE MANAGEMENT
          813km UP roads strengthened using single-use plastic waste

          The Uttar Pradesh state government has demonstrated a significant commitment to sustainability by constructing and
          strengthening 813 km of road network using plastic waste, particularly single-use plastic, mixed with bitumen. This
          innovative initiative has resulted in the improvement of 466 roads and routes while promoting proper disposal of single-
          use plastic. Notably, this effort has gained global recognition, with India leading in the construction of plastic roads,
          surpassing 2500 kilometres. Additionally, the government has allocated funds for road improvement and development
          projects, aiming to enhance road connectivity and infrastructure. The Public Works Department data highlights substantial
          progress in rural road construction and renovation, reflecting the government's dedication to improving transportation
          infrastructure across the state.





          NEW RULES, POLICY AND MANDATES FOR INDUSTRY

          Plastic banned in Bengaluru police station

          Bengaluru Police Commissioner B. Dayananda has implemented a ban on the use of plastic across his office and all police
          stations in the city. This decision, aimed at preventing pollution, was made as a New Year resolution on behalf of the
          police force. Dayananda emphasised the importance of reducing plastic usage and instructed his subordinates to cease
          the use of plastic items such as water bottles, handbags, and files. The ban was officially communicated through a note
          issued by Deputy Commissioner of Police (Administration) K. Santosh Babu to all Deputy Commissioners of Police and
          police stations following instructions given at a crime review meeting held on January 2.
