                                                                                           THE PRESIDENT SAYS SAYS

          One Nation One Tax

          Dear Members,

As GST implementation started from 1st July 2017, India becomes one unified common market
bringing tough but genuine competition amongst manufacturing Sector and importers.AIPMA
welcomes GST and compliments the Government’s Commitment for implementation of GST
          on time.

Plastic industry did suffer some problems with the GST implementation. Plastic raw materials
used as inputs to processing ought to have been kept at Standard tariff of 12%, to ensure
economics as well as ease of sourcing for the local processing units.

We thank various ministers, departments and the Various State as well Central Government team
for giving us a patient hearing during our numerous rounds of meeting with them requesting
them to reduce GST rates on few items falling under HSN Codes 3915, 3923, 3924, 3826, 8536
and 8477. A rational tariff rate would act as an incentive for the industry resulting into growth,
creation of employment and export hub. This will also reduce burden on common man as most HAREN SANGHAVI
items falling under these HSN are used by common man on day to day basis.

The Plastics Waste Recycling Sector is the worst hit by the GST as Waste coming from Solid
Waste Management was always Tax Free and with the income of GST this will now be charged
at 18%. Under Swachh Bharat Yojana it is our earnest request to the Honourable Prime Minister
Shri Narendra Modi and Honourable Finance Minister Shri ArunJaitley to allow Plastic Waste
(HSN: 3915) and Equipment (HSN:8477) needed to collect and recycle Waste to be kept under
exemption or the lowest GST category.
