Meeting of Plastics Manufacturers and Traders’ Associations of
Maharashtra at AIPMA House

A Associations was called upon by AIPMA on 10th of Plastic Associations held with Hon’ble Environment
March, 2018, at 10.30am by Shri Harpal Singh, Convener, Minister Shri. Ramdas Kadam on 5th March, 2018 and gave
Maharashtra Plastic Ban, to formulate a strategy to insights on the State Govt. concerns and reasons behind
fight against the Proposed Plastic Ban by Government of the Proposed Ban.

Mr. Ravi Jashnani, President, MPMA, informed all the
attendees present about the Writ petition filed by MPMA
against the order dated 2nd January 2018 issued by Govt.
of Maharashtra. He also shared a significant development
that Govt. of Maharashtra in response to the petition, filed
an Affidavit in the Court that the order date 2/01/2018
is not the final notification issued by the Government. A
draft notification would be submitted with suggestions
and objections called from public and then the final
notification will be issued by the Govt. This provides for
Dignitaries - Mr. Arvind Mehta, Chairman, GC, President an interim relief to the Plastic manufacturers and traders
Mr. Hiten Bheda, Mr. Harpal Singh, Convener, Maharashtra of Maharashtra.
Plastic Ban, Mr. Akhilesh Bhargava, Chairman of
Environment Committee, Mr. Haren Sanghavi, and the
members of the Managing Committee of AIPMA attended
the meeting.
In response to this call more than 100 Manufacturers,
Traders and leaders of Plastics Associations from various
regions such as Mumbai, Mumbai suburbs, Pune, Palghar,
Aurangabad, Ahmednagar, Gondia, Daman, Jalna,
attended the meeting to give their inputs and support
the movement.
Also the members of various Associations present discussed
and shared their opinions on immediate strategy which
could be implemented against the Proposed Ban.
All the dignitaries present from AIPMA listened to all the
views shared by the traders and manufacturers present and
also tried to resolve the concerns raised by some of them.
A Central Co-ordination Committee was also proposed
to be set up to collect data on Plastics Manufacturers
and Traders present in Maharashtra which would help to
