THE PRESIDENT SAYS

          Dear Members and Industry Partners,
The Indian plastics industry is entering a defining phase-one marked by renewed confidence,
technological advancement, and a clear shift toward responsible growth. Over the past year, we have
seen positive momentum across processing, raw materials, recycling, and downstream applications.
This transformation is not only a reflection of India’s expanding manufacturing capability but also of
our industry’s ability to evolve in step with global expectations.

A Turning Point for Indian Plastics
The domestic market continues to grow at a promising pace, driven by sectors such as packaging,
automobiles, healthcare, infrastructure, and consumer goods. Investments in automation, precision
technologies, and energy-efficient machinery are elevating quality and productivity standards.
MSMEs and large processors alike are embracing innovation, positioning India as a reliable and
competitive supply partner in global markets.

Government initiatives ranging from infrastructure development and export promotion to stronger
MSME support are further catalyzing industry growth. Today, Indian processors are not just meeting
demand; they are reshaping it with forward-looking solutions, sustainability-centric designs, and
          world-class excellence.

Global Regulations—A New Era of Responsibility
Around the world, regulations concerning plastics are undergoing significant change. Discussions
surrounding the Global Plastics Treaty, accelerated EPR norms, recyclability mandates, and
circular-economy frameworks are shaping a new regulatory environment. These policies reflect an
undeniable global shift: plastics must be produced, used, and recovered responsibly.
For India, this changing landscape presents both challenges and opportunities. Compliance with
global sustainability standards will require us to rethink designs, adopt recyclable materials,
integrate certified recycled content, and ensure greater traceability. Yet, this shift also allows India
to demonstrate leadership in sustainable manufacturing and circular innovation.

India’s Readiness and the Road Ahead

Our industry has already begun adapting. The increasing investments in recycling facilities, advanced
waste-processing technologies, design-for-recycling practices, and material innovation signal a
proactive readiness to align with global norms. AIPMA is committed to supporting this transition
through continuous engagement with policymakers, international bodies, and industry stakeholders.
Through focused training, regulatory awareness programs, capacity-building initiatives, and global
collaboration platforms, AIPMA aims to make compliance not just possible but strategic - giving
Indian manufacturers a competitive edge in the world marketplace.
Collective Progress for a Sustainable Future

As India aspires to become a global manufacturing hub, the plastics industry stands at the forefront
of this aspiration. Our responsibility goes beyond economic contribution; it extends to environmental
stewardship and material innovation. By embracing circular economy principles, investing in R&D,
and building partnerships across the value chain, we can ensure a future where plastics remain
integral - efficient, sustainable, and indispensable.

I am confident that with collaboration, adaptability, and vision, the Indian plastics industry will not
only navigate global regulatory shifts but also emerge stronger, more resilient, and more globally
          relevant.

Let us move forward with unity and purpose, carrying forward the legacy of AIPMA with pride and
          responsibility.

                                                                              Mr. Sunil Shah
                                                                       president@aipma.net
