With great pleasure & gratitude in my heart, I would begin by thanking the members of AIPMA for
electing me as the President of this prestigious organization which has been serving the plastic
industry for 75 years now. With support of everyone, I strongly believe that we will be able to take
AIPMA to newer heights and continue to serve the plastic sector.
I would also like to congratulate the other elected members, Mr. Kishore P. Sampat as Senior Vice
President, Mr. Mayur D. Shah as Vice President-Finance, Mr. Akshat Ladha as Vice President-West,
Mr. Lalit Kumar Singh as Vice President-North, Mr. Anil Reddy Vennam as Vice President-South & Mr.
Ashok Agarwal as Vice President-East. I am sure that me and my team along with support &
guidance from our senior members of the managing committee will work together to carry
forward the legacy and work for the betterment of the plastic industry by addressing the
challenges faced by the industry & thus ensure a clear path for the future.
The Plastic Industry has made a steady beginning in 1945 but the development took place from
1960 onwards. Since the liberalization of Indian Economy in 1991, this sector has shown
tremendous growth and diversification. In today's scenario, Plastic is a major component, used in
each and every Sector/Industry like Electronics, Computers, White Goods, to name a few!
However, from a long time, India's Plastic Industry is facing a huge crunch in demand in the
domestic sector, which is affecting over four million people employed in the Plastic Industry.

amplified within the Plastic Industry.
We would continue to actively work with all the stakeholders including the industry, policy
makers, R&D institutions, waste management companies and recyclers in finding solutions to the
problems of plastic waste management. We have also done very successful conferences on plastic
waste management and recycling in many states all across India, as well strongly feel that there is
a need of awareness amongst the people and to make them understand that only plastic is not the
culprit.
Due to the occurrence of the lockdown situation, but we did not stop but went ahead to organize
several webinars and would continue to do so, on some very untouched topics such as profit
leadership workshop series, which proved to be of extensive significance for the industry & thus
received immense support and participation for the same.
Apart from this, for AIPMA partnership with the government has always been of central priority as
we believe that the industry is a clear player in national development. The current government at
the center and state is very proactive and we have been successful in bridging the gap between
the government and industry. This year too, we will continue to work and intend to gain more
support from the government for our members.
We have partnered with India's leading Innovation & Research Foundation's EXPLORRA to establish
st
21 Century State-of-the-art Innovation & Emerging Tech-Creative Entrepreneurship Campuses at
Mumbai & Gurgaon-AMTEC. Range of programs at the campuses will directly support AIPMA
Members as well as Industry (organizations & professionals) and Community (Students & Specific
section of society) at large. The programs are specialized value-added programs that will result in
enhanced skill, competence and provide employment at national & international level. AIPMA will
also be launching Courses on Artificial Intelligence, Design Thinking, Augmented Reality (AR),
Virtual Reality (VR), UI/UX Design & Digital Media Design.
Not only this, in collaboration with NITI Aayog, we are in the progress to establish a development
of the centre in Mumbai. The Atal Community Innovation Centre (ACIC) at Mumbai will serve as
the platform for students and professionals from all backgrounds, Innovators, Community People,
Free Lancers, Academic professional and large organizations in and around Mumbai and Pune to
convert their Ideas into Innovations leading to Marketable Solutions through helping, mentoring,
skill development, training and hand holding them
Well once again thanks for the support. We will keep a positive approach to perform, serve & focus
on growth of industry.
