THE PRESIDENT SAYS

plastics industry. GCPRS has set a new benchmark in our efforts to promote sustainable practices and
          innovation in the plastics industry.

AIPMA, in collaboration with the Department of Chemicals and Fertilizers (DCPC), successfully organ-
ized a workshop on the "Roadmap of the Indian Plastics Industry for VIKSIT BHARAT," on August
22, 2024, at the Indian Habitat Centre, New Delhi. The event brought together industry leaders and
government officials to discuss crucial topics such as the TUF scheme for the plastics sector, market
expansion, export opportunities, and strategies to strengthen the R&D and innovation ecosystem.

I am pleased to report that our budgetary recommendations for FY 2024-2025 were accepted, main-
taining stability in import duties for plastic raw materials and facilitating the development of plug-and-
play infrastructure-key drivers for our industry's continued growth.

Our proactive approach extended to leveraging the China Plus One strategy. AIPMA has initiated a
comprehensive study aimed at quadrupling India's exports of finished plastic products to ₹160,000
crores over the next five years. This strategic initiative, expected to be completed soon, will provide a
clear roadmap for enhancing India's competitiveness in the global market.

During my tenure, building a skilled workforce has been a priority. Through AMTEC's collaborative
CSR project with Covestro, EY, and AIPMA, we have transformed the lives of over 150 students from
financially disadvantaged backgrounds. These students received comprehensive training in NX CAD,
3D Printing, and soft skills, making them industry-ready and securing placements in esteemed compa-
nies such as Tata Motors, Mahindra, and Bajaj Auto, with annual salaries ranging from INR 2,50,000 to
4,00,000. AMTEC has played a pivotal role in improving their economic conditions, offering a brighter
future to them and their families.

In addition, we organized five job fairs in major cities-Gurgaon, Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, and
Ahmedabad-which attracted over 50 companies and more than 1,000 candidates. The overwhelming
response led to approximately 100 successful job placements, underscoring our commitment to ad-
dressing the skills gap within the plastics sector.

The second event, the Financial Conclave: Empowering SMEs-Competitive Financing for Plastics Value
Chain, held at the National Stock Exchange in Mumbai, focused on enhancing financial literacy among
SMEs. Co-organized with NSE, this conference provided valuable insights into competitive financing,
IPO preparation, and effective risk management, equipping our SMEs with the financial tools neces-
          sary to thrive.

Additionally, AIPMA successfully organized three delegations which included:

          1. RUPLASTICA 2024 (23rd – 26th January) in Moscow, Russia. This event, held from May 6th to 10th,
provided our members with invaluable insights into global industry trends, machinery, equipment, and
waste management technologies engaged with 1,000 exhibitors from 22 countries and offered a com-
prehensive view of the international plastics sector.

          2. CHINAPLAS 2024 (23rd – 26th April): AIPMA participated in CHINAPLAS 2024 at the National Ex-
