few months ago AIPMA had extended its support
A towards handling the Plastic Waste by collaborating
with Keshav Srushti for a Plastic Waste Management
project in Palghar District, Maharashtra to make 50 waste

Under this initiative we pledged to make 50 villages
“Plastic Neutral”.
In the month of March – April 2021, we had chalked out
6 villages for the Plastic Waste Collection Drive and
vehicle was used in these 6 different routes for 6 days in
a week, each village had once a week pick up facility of
the plastic waste.
This initiative is aimed to focus on spreading awareness
on Plastic Waste Management. The co-development of 50
waste compliant model villages comprises of Education,
waste management, sanitation, farming, renewable
energy, skill development, water supply and character
building making Carbon Neutral Villages in the Palghar
District of Maharashtra.
Villagers have accepted a change without any resistance.
On an average there were 200 residents per village, you
have come forward and have engaged in this cause.
That means more than 10000 villagers or 2500 families
in a month are engaging with us and making the villages
“Plastic Neutral”.
In last 15 days, approximately 500 KGs of littered plastic
waste was collected.
The Plastic waste collected is weighed at the spot and a
record is being maintained.
We took session for the first 15 days, with villagers on how
to do the segregation of waste.
This initiative is creating more and more awareness among
the villagers in making compliant model villages.
