Greetings!!
We have crossed half of the year and we got to see a lot of new technologies and innovations
introduced in the different categories of the Plastic Industry.
Throughout all these times, Recycling has been a major and foremost part of the industry as
Recycling plastic reduces the environmental impacts associated with producing plastic, saves
energy, helps conserve resources, and reduces demand for new and virgin plastic materials. By
recycling plastic, companies reduce their need to purchase virgin plastic, which helps reduce
production costs. This can also help keep plastic prices low, allowing more people to afford
products made from recycled plastic. Reducing the need for virgin resources also help address
the problem of shrinking landfills, as recycling helps keep plastic materials out of landfills, help
lower pollution and greenhouse gas emissions associated with the production of new plastic
          materials.
The few of the processes are – Waste Management system: A well-designed waste management
system is essential for maintaining a clean and healthy environment. It involves proper collection,
transportation, and disposal of waste to minimize its impact on the environment and human
          health.
Automated Recycling Systems: An automated recycling system utilizes advanced technology
and robotics to efficiently sort and process recyclable materials. It enhances recycling operations
by increasing speed, accuracy, and capacity, thereby promoting sustainability and reducing the
          burden on human labour.
Waste-to-Energy Technology: Waste to energy systems convert waste materials into energy
through various processes such as incineration, gasification, and pyrolysis. These systems can
generate electricity, heat, and other forms of energy while reducing the volume of waste that
needs to be disposed of in landfills.
Automated Sorting: Automated sorting systems use a combination of sophisticated sensing
technologies and artificial intelligence (AI) to sort different types of plastics. This technology
can rapidly detect and sort different types of plastics according to their specific chemical and
          mechanical properties.
Mechanical Separation: Mechanical separation involves using machines to separate different
types of plastics based on their density, shape, size, and other physical properties. This technology
can be used to create high-quality recyclable plastic products and can help to speed up the
          recycling process.
The 1st Technology Conference for Growth of Plastic Industry, Import Substitution of Plastic
Goods organized by AIPMA at India Habitat Centre, New Delhi was a great success. The
conferenc atten mo than 400 deleg including senio governmen officials,
visionaries of the industry, researchers and entrepreneurs. The major topics that were discussed
at the conference were Innovations in Raw material & Supply Chain, requirement for Import
Substitution, Requirement of Innovative Plastic processing Technologies for Import Substitution
etc which will help industry to reduce imports and push towards Roadmap to become
          Atmnairbhar in Plastic Goods.
Upcoming conference is in Mumbai on 7th July and similar conferences would be held in Kolkata,
Chennai, Ahmedabad, and Bangalore in upcoming months.
                                                                                    Thankyou,

                                                                                 Rajiv B. Tolat
                                                                                   Hon. Editor
