1. On April 16th, 2024 Allied Resource Management Services India Pvt Ltd (ARMS) Pune visited
AMTEC for a placement interview session. Mr. Prashant Kshirsagar, Manager of Recruitment,
conducted interviews with 31 students from AMBERNATH ITI, all of whom had recently com-
pleted upskilling courses at AMTEC. All the 31 students have been selected for placement.
Following a year of training, these students will be placed at Varroc Polymers or Bajaj Auto in
Pune. This success brings the total number of employed students from AMTEC's upskilling
courses to 60.
2. From April 23rd – 29th, 2024, the 4th session of the Intergovernmental Negotiating Com-
mittee (INC) convened by UNEP gathered over 2,500 delegates from 170 countries and 480
observer organizations to discuss an international legally binding instrument on plastic pollu-
tion, with a focus on the marine environment. AIPMA, led by Mr. Hiten Bheda, participated as
an observer, highlighting concerns about the treaty's impact on developing nations like India.
Contact groups addressed various aspects, including product design, financing mechanisms,
and the regulation of problematic plastics. Key outcomes included the establishment of two
inter-sessional expert groups to analyze implementation resources and criteria for regulating
harmful plastics. Despite logistical challenges and diverse perspectives, significant progress
was made, setting the stage for further negotiations in INC-5.
3. From May 5th, 2024, 52 students from NTTF Murbad have commenced their upskilling train-

brighter future.
4. On May 27, 2024, AIPMA submitted its recommendations to the Department of Chemicals and
Petrochemicals, Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers, endorsing the mandatory implementa-
tion of Quality Control Orders (QCOs) for the packaging of cement, fertilizers, polymers, and
postal bags according to the specified standards (IS 9755:2021; 11652:2017; 16703:2017;
16709:2017; and 17399:2020). However, AIPMA also requested a reduction in BIS licensing
fees for MSMEs and a six-month deferment of the QCO implementation, citing the industry's
need for additional time to prepare.
