          Supporting MSMEs Amid Cost Pressures

Recognising the impact of rising polymer prices on MSMEs, AIPMA has taken a proactive role in:
♦ Highlighting working capital challenges and margin pressures to policymakers

♦ Advocating for rationalisation of duties and improved access to raw materials.
♦ Facilitating dialogue between processors, polymer producers, and government bodies

The association has also been involved in initiatives aimed at protecting MSME interests during regula-
tory transitions, including changes in environmental and compliance frameworks.
          Will Markets Stabilise?

A return to pre-conflict stability in polymer markets appears unlikely in the near term. Instead, the in-
dustry is adjusting to a “new normal” characterised by:
♦ Moderate but ongoing price volatility
          ♦ Regionally diversified supply chains

♦ Greater emphasis on reliability and risk mitigation

While any easing of geopolitical tensions could bring temporary relief in freight and feedstock costs,
structural shifts in global trade behaviour are expected to persist.
          A Measured Step Forward

As the industry adapts to a more volatile global environment, AIPMA’s continued engagement with
the government will be crucial in:
♦ Ensuring policy responsiveness to raw material fluctuations
          ♦ Strengthening export competitiveness

♦ Supporting MSME resilience and long-term sustainability

In many ways, the effectiveness of this collaboration will determine how well the Indian plastics indus-
try navigates the current challenges—and capitalises on emerging global opportunities.

          Looking Ahead

The Indian plastics industry stands at a critical juncture. Balancing cost pressures, supporting MSMEs,
and strengthening global competitiveness will be key priorities in the months ahead.

In a world where volatility is becoming the norm, resilience, adaptability, and consistency will define
          long-term success.
