THE PRESIDENT SAYS
The Next Move
Myself, Kishore Sampat, the newly elected President of AIPMA would like to thank Members of the
Managing Committee and Industry colleagues for reposing me and giving me an opportunity to serve
the industry. I am fortunate to have a very capable team of Office Bearers – Mayur D. Shah, Manish
Dedhia, Manoj R. Shah, V. Anil Reddy, Ashok Agarwal, L.K.Singh and we will together perform as a team
to achieve goals under the guidance of senior Mentor and Governing Council Chairman - Mr. Arvind
Mehta who guides me relentlessly on the way forward. The experience of Immediate Past President Mr.
Chandrakant Turakhia will give an added value and put things in right direction.
Looking at the global scenario and changing times, the Indian Plastic Industry will witness great change
adapting modern innovative technologies spearheading for growth. The challenges and opportunities
ahead is to manage the issues related to the Environment and we as a Plastic Industry have to acclimate
the products and technologies to meet the Circular Economy to keep the growth sustainable.
Under the leadership of Environment Chairman Mr. Hiten Bheda along with Regional Plastics Associations,
AIPMA has created a white paper to present a common front to the Government regarding the new EPR
and Plastic Waste Management Rules, Kishore P. Sampat
Recycling of Plastics is the biggest opportunity to enable all of us to evaluate and explore as per the vision
of our Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. We must gear up and support the vision of Clean
India where AIPMA shall play a vital role. Globally we have a big opportunity to make India as industry
hub with our manufacturing strength and Atmanirbhar Bharat with our international consumer behaviour
opening a big market for Plastics products. This will open gateway of opportunities for Exports.
Plastics plays a vital role in Medical and Healthcare which was proved during the pandemic wave where
disposable Plastics and various Medical plastics packaging have saved human lives besides easing of
handling of Medical waste. The Plastics News Magazine of October, 2021 Issue focuses on the Medical
and Health Care encompassing meaningful and vital information compiled by Dr. Asutosh Gor and Dr.
D.L. Pandya who are masters in this subject.
AIPMA is looking forward to harmonise with modern and innovative technologies which are required
by the industry to meet the Global Challenges.
AIPMA’s AMTEC has created a Centre of Excellence for Plastic Product Innovation & Application
with focused and dedicated Vision, Mission, Goal and Objectives to bring international technology for
MSME’s at par with global standards rapidly. The Centre would help the industry to graduate from Micro
to small, small to medium and medium to large enterprises. This is a unique and great service by AIPMA
to the Plastic Industry.
AIPMA continuously strive to reach out and work closely with our members through various modules i.e.
Plastics News Magazine, AIPMA Website, Webinars, Seminars, etc. With support of DCPC and MSME
series of physical events also shall be rolled out before the year ends.
I look forward for to network with all our Regional Plastic Associations and work together to chalk out
strategies addressing common issues of Plastic Industry with strong Advocacy exercise from AIPMA.
Newly elected Office Bearers, Members of Managing Committee and all veterans guided by Chairman
Governing Council are doing their best to take Brand Plastivision further to touch new heights of
success which will be witnessed in our forthcoming 12th edition of Plastivision India 2023 overcoming
all pandemic hurdles.
We have recently completed our 75th Annual General Meeting and look forward for a grand celebration
at a suitable time with who’s who of Plastic Industry and our colleagues.
Wish you all seasonal greetings.
