THE PRESIDENT SAYS
It’s Time For The Change
It takes just a small team with focus and dedication to achieve miracles. I am honored to lead such a team
at AIPMA since October 2020.
Despite the destruction caused due to the pandemic, we have learnt to be self-reliant and self-motivated
and believe that the hard work of everyone will bear fruit and we further believe that what we are doing
will make our industry and country stronger. I started with the same mindset to carry forward the legacy
and work for the betterment of the industry, along with the support of my team, and guidance from
senior members of the managing committee and continue the efforts of my predecessor, create new
opportunities for the growth of plastic Industry.
The world of business was being profoundly affected due to this pandemic. In addition to the threat to
public health, the economic and social disruption threaten the long-term livelihoods and wellbeing of
millions. Many found themselves in this situation for the long haul, as businesses struggle to forge ahead
despite the restrictions. People have been more patient in learning new technologies and engaging with
them, simply because they’ve had to.
Being from industry we are aware about constraints to growth of industry. Chandrakant Turakhia
Assuming unlimited resources, we created a master plan for AIPMA to overcome constraints to growth.
This was not only the first such plan, but also the most ambitious - it helped us to focus & scale up
AIPMA activities hugely.
AIPMA became Digital and was working 24x7 even during difficult Lockdown. Entire functions and
deliberations were under digital platform. I think these best practices will live on, we’re all developing
new muscles to work virtually.
We had organised a comprehensive platform to meet and interact with new agents and distributors ready to
buy/sell products across the globe through a VIRTUAL EXHIBITION "PLASTIWORLD" a packaging
show with a mission to maximize your business success.
In accordance with the ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat Abhiyaan’ launched by Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra
Modi, we launched AIPMA’s AMTEC (AIPMA’s Arvind Mehta Technology & Entrepreneurship Centre) on
16th February, 2021 in Mumbai. The Centre of Excellence for Plastics Product Innovation and Application’
was launched with a vision to promote high quality knowledge and industrial services for rapid growth
of the plastics and its application industry primarily focusing on MSME’s.
Our relations with several regional associations have been strengthened. Under the umbrella of AIPMA
we have formed All Associations Forum of India consisting of 10 large Plastics Associations for Advocacy
and networking for Plastics Industry.
Today in the mobile world, you are only as good as your network strength.
AIPMA is now super strong with the network created.
I wish a great success and this march will continue with dreams of success and prosperous life.
Words are inadequate to express my gratitude, I thank AIPMA Members & Managing Committee of
AIPMA to put so much trust in our vision and give us free hand to do so many changes in such an
established and old institute.
My sincere thanks to the Plastic Fraternity, Authorities, my Colleagues and Secretariat at AIPMA who
lent their shoulders to ensure flawless and unconditional support enabling me to take up the cause of the
industry in the capacity of President of AIPMA
Wishing you all a very Happy Dussehra, Diwali and a Prosperous Hindu New Year in advance with
continuous good health.
