THE PRESIDENT SAYS
Driving Innovation and Sustainability in the Plastic Industry
Dear Members,
Season’s Greetings!
At AIPMA, we have been working tirelessly to ensure that the industry’s
voice is heard where it matters most. Recently, we submitted comprehensive
recommendations to streamline the Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR)
system, proposing practical solutions to support smooth implementation.
Additionally, we’ve provided detailed inputs on incentivizing the adoption of
eco-friendly alternatives to further strengthen India’s shift toward a sustainable
plastics economy.
The plastics industry stands at a pivotal moment, where growth and sustainability
are no longer separate goals but interconnected priorities. As President of
AIPMA, I am privileged to lead our association during this transformative time
and share key updates on new policy developments, the industry’s progress, and
our exciting plans for GCPRS 2 (Global Conference on Plastics Recycling and
Sustainability).
GCPRS 2: Accelerating Circularity in Plastics
After the resounding success of GCPRS 1, which welcomed over 250 exhibitors
and 20,000 visitors, I am thrilled to announce that GCPRS 2 is scheduled from 17th
to 20th June 2025. This global event will bring together leaders, innovators, and
policymakers to explore practical solutions for sustainable plastic management
and recycling.
Themed “Circularity in Plastics: Pathways for a Sustainable Tomorrow,” the
conclave will focus on transitioning from a linear economy to a circular one. A key
highlight will be India’s ambitious recycling targets for 2025, aimed at dramatically
increasing recycling rates and reinforcing the principles of a circular economy.
Through technical sessions, exhibitions, and high-level discussions, GCPRS 2 will
provide actionable insights and foster partnerships to address the challenges
ahead.
This is a unique opportunity for members to showcase innovations, collaborate
with global experts, and contribute to shaping the future of our industry. Your
active participation will not only amplify the event’s success but also position India
as a leader in sustainable plastic practices.
Call to Action: Together Toward a Greener Future
The journey ahead is rich with opportunities for those ready to adapt and innovate.
I encourage every member to take full advantage of AIPMA’s resources, whether
