Season’s Greetings to everyone!!
As we are stepping into a new year, there are ample of opportunities for Indian
manufacturers to showcase their product by exhibiting in various potential
exhibitions lined up for 2025. These exhibitions are not only national but global
as well, which is going to provide networking and business with new foreign
companies.

On the context to the new policy and notifications, a new significant update
from the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) regarding Extended Producer
Responsibility (EPR) under the Plastic Waste Management Rules.

CPCB has expanded its EPR registration scope to include Micro & Small Producers,
Sellers, and Manufacturers & Importers of raw materials. They are required to fulfil
EPR obligation by ensuring that plastic waste is processed through Plastic Waste
Processors (PWPs) as per an action plan to meet assigned EPR targets.
Micro & Small Producers, Sellers, Manufacturers & Importers of raw materials shall
have to get registered with SPCBs/PCCs on plastic EPR portal to comply with
provisions under PWM Rules, 2016.
Key highlights include:

♦ Now, raw material stakeholders, contract manufacturers, and SMEs can reg-
ister directly.
♦ The new features for registration are available on the CPCB EPR portal under
the "SIMP" section.

This inclusive update simplifies processes, promoting broader participation in
sustainable plastic waste management. We encourage all eligible stakeholders to
register on the CPCB EPR portal.
