With reference to the recently released amendment by Maharashtra Pollution Control Board
in consent to Operate of Leading Brand Owners and Plastic Producers for Use of Recycled
Plastics in Plastic Packaging and Plastic items, AIPMA welcomed the decision made with
objective of post-consumer plastic waste management which will bring us closer to sustainable
consumption. But as per inputs received from the industry stakeholders and experts, we
believe that the amendments however needs operational clarity, looking at which AIPMA sent
a representation along with suggestions and recommendations addressed to the chairman-
Maharashtra Pollution Control Board and requested them to provide enough time to industry
to organize the supply chain and to ensure the availability of reprocessed material both in
terms of quantity and quality & also to reconsider their decision keeping in mind the wider
implications and additional constraints accompanied with the amendment.
AIPMA has joined hands with Keshav Srushti for a Plastic Waste Management project in Palghar
District, Maharashtra to make 50 Plastic Waste Neutral Villages.
AIPMA organized a webinar on “Investment opportunities in downstream Plastics and Textiles
Industries in Odisha” with an aim to highlight the emerging investment opportunities in eastern
India, particularly in Odisha, for textiles and plastic processing industries in the context of
an evolving market landscape. The webinar provided the attendees with details about the
opportunities in the state and ways to obtain benefit by investing in the rising industry.
