Greetings to all, The 11th Edition of PlastIndia 2023 exhibition is over and has left a strong
footprint towards the next step to the standard of the Plastics Industry Exhibition segment.
This exhibition took place in Pragati Maidan, New Delhi successfully from 1st Feb to 5th Feb
showed a tremendous footfall of overall 3.60lacs and 1500+ Exhibitors providing vast business
opportunities in every segment of The Indian Plastics Industry.
This exhibition’s focus was on innovation, sustainability and growth facilitating modern techniques
and the five days event provided an excellent opportunities for exhibitors to showcase their
new innovations in processing, machinery, moulds and dies, auxiliary equipment, printing and
packaging, raw materials and more, exhibitors definitely found the response encouraging and
are looking forward to major push their businesses.
The foreign trade has been growing in recent years and India is a high priority market globally.
The Global exhibitors are looking to increase their trade with India and had make many valuable
business contacts at PlastIndia 2023. The Whole exhibition ground was covered in 10+ big halls
with the proper bifurcation of the segments. The arrangements of transportation, services,
security and facilities were at par by the management.
Meet your Mentor programme was conceptualized in which mentors discussed huge business
potential of Plastic waste Management in India and shared the valuable lessons regarding the
industry.
Overall the show was a great opportunity to present and capture the business with the vast
output to provide to customers and visitors of the industry, also to establish the connection with
global market.
As per the new notification issued in Plastic Waste Management Rules, 2016, vide PWM
(Amendment) Rules, 2022. Accordingly Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) on producers,
importers and brand owners have been made applicable to both pre-consumer and post –
consumer’s plastic packaging waste as per JNPT Customs notification dated 8th Feb 2023. Due
to this new rule, it is going to cause a lot of problems for industry and will be difficult to comply
for small scale manufacturers. This may result in scarcity of raw material and may push up the
price.
AIPMA is roping in other associations to convince the government to exclude Small Scale Units
and let them run smoothly.
We hope for the best that this new rule shall not affect the growth of the Indian Plastic Industry.
Thankyou,
Rajiv B. Tolat
