Greetings to all, we all are excited to witness the most awaited event PlastIndia Exhibition 2023
from 1st – 5th Feb. After 5 years, this exhibition will continue to charter new areas of growth
          for the plastics industry.

Over the years, the plastics industry has reinvented itself with advanced innovations and
developed environment-friendly processing and utilization techniques that do not affect the
          environment.

We at AIPMA have a vision to ensure a sustainable approach to plastic and its impact on the
environment. We understand the need of protecting and conserving the environment and
believe it is a social responsibility.

AIPMA had organized the conference on Plastic Recycling, EPR and Waste Management on 6th
of January 2023 which was a great success, as AIPMA strongly put the thought upfront to come
forward and extend its support and registered for the EPR. Dr. Rajesh Kumar, IPS, Member
Secretary, WBPCB, Kolkata gave assurance that the units who are coming forward for EPR
registration process will face no problems in getting approvals from State Pollution Control
Board and will be resolved within a month or so. In addition, AIPMA will be organizing similar
events in various other cities like Bhubaneswar, Ahmedabad, Pune, and Guwahati during this
          year.

After recognising the importance of sustainable growth in sync with a circular economy, the
government formulated the Amendment of Plastic Waste Management Rules in 2022. These
rules promote utilisation of waste generated in line with the circular model by setting out waste
disposal standards for manufacturers, producers, importers, and bulk consumers, along with
enabling transactions among stakeholders for Extended Producer Responsibility certificates.

Government of India and other countries are taking the initiatives to support sustainability goals.
For Instance, the US Department of Agriculture (USDA) supports various programs to increase
the research, development, and buyer/consumer awareness of bioplastics.

While taking crucial steps to reduce carbon footprints and to contribute to the circular economy,
AIPMA is organizing seminars to promote circular economy and are providing proper EPR
          guidelines to the Plastic Industry.

                                                                                 Thanking you,

                                                                               Mayur D. Shah
                                                                          president@aipma.net
