Beyond conferences and events, AIPMA is now fully engaged in preparing for one of the most
awaited and largest exhibitions of the year - PLASTIVISION 2023. The exhibition, scheduled
from 7 to 11 December at Nesco Ground in Mumbai, has generated significant buzz, with
th
th
exhibitor spaces already filled up and moving forward. This exhibition comes after a gap of three
years, and its news has been widely covered.
India's average plastic per capita consumption, currently at 15kg, is projected to grow, aiming to
reach the global per capita consumption of plastic, which stands at 35kg. To achieve this, India
will require more polymer plants to cover the gap of 20kg, which will enhance export quality
and focus on self-sustainability in polymer production, reducing dependence on imports except
for specific grades.
The Indian plastic industry is in a phase of growth, with manufacturers, MSMEs, and industries
taking measures to boost the economy, increase capacity, and address employment issues.
Employment has been a major concern in the industry, but with reputed institutes providing
skill development courses and preparing skilled workers to serve the industry, there is relief and
hope for the future.
We are excited about the upcoming PLASTIVISION 2023 and the continued growth and
progress of the plastic industry in India. Let's work together to achieve new heights and
promote sustainable growth in the sector. Thank you all for your support and participation in
our initiatives!
Thanking you,
Mayur D. Shah
