Manufacturers Association (AIPMA) wholeheartedly thanked all the guests and dignitaries on the dais for sparing
their valuable time and attending the conference to contribute their expertise for the bene ts of the plastic industry.
e National Convention 2022 brought together distinguished National Speakers from the industry to deliberate
upon challenges and opportunities in the Plastics recycling sector & there was rich discussions on how we can
achieve Circularity & Sustainability for plastics in India, whilst adding to the GDP of the country and creating
new jobs as well as upgrading recycling technologies, equipment and creative nancing for this emerging segment.
is Conference provided a platform for entrepreneurs, experts, businessmen, and other stakeholders to create new
livelihood and business opportunities in the plastics sector, at the same time helping India tackle the issue of plastic
pollution and meet environmental goals. e event witnessed the presence of over 300 delegates from various
segments of plastic industry. Booths were also set up at the event by the industry to showcase the latest innovations,
drives and developments.
In the view of providing the best of knowledge and information to the delegates present at the conference there
were three Power Packed Panel discussion sessions which included industry leading renowned panellists. AIPMA
in the context of moulding the future of the industry provided an opportunity to the young minds i.e. the students
from MIT World Piece University, Pune pursuing T.Y.B. TECH Polymer engineering who got a valuable exposure
helping to understand the current industry trends and future needs.
e rst Panel Discussion was on PWM 2022 - New EPR Portal- Demystifying Rules which threw light on PWM
2022 lists SUP items that will be banned, further new concepts like Reuse and recycled content in packaging
which have been introduced, new EPR registration portal, it bene ts and challenges for the industry. Amongst
the panellists was Mr. Shailendra Singh, Member, Environment Committee who provided his expertise and
summarised the current industry scenario gracefully. ere was an overwhelming response by the delegates and
they were provided opportunities to ask questions, which were very-well answered by the expert panellists. Post
lunch second session on Plastic Waste Management- Exciting & Emerging Business Opportunity was where all the
industry experts and aspiring individuals got the best of insights from the well established players. Brie y, in this
session the dynamic Entrepreneurs shared their experiences along with what are some of the interesting existing/
emerging business models and possibilities that exist that can bene t the industry. Additionally, the panellists in
this session delivered presentations on their respective products and machineries which can add to the bene ts of
the plastic industry and in turn to the environment.
