This year Plastic Industry has faced lot of challenges as in the month of July Government imposed
ban on the SUP items that are less than 75 microns as there is the misconception that it cannot be
recycled and it has been posing a threat to aquatic and wildlife. But I can proudly say that Plastic
Manufacturers have overcome this situation positively by providing the better alternatives for these
          products.
AIPMA has always been in the support of Plastic Industries, during this crisis AIPMA took the
initiative to approach MSME Ministry to provide fund and technology support for the policy
affecting MSME units, engaged in manufacturing of SUP products. As well, AIPMA has drafted
a letter addressing to Shri Rameshwar P. Gupta, the Secretary, Ministry of Environment, Forest
and Climate Change Department related to the Input received from the Plastic Manufacturers and
Producers regarding the implementation of Plastic Waste Management Rules, 2021.
We are also doing our part and being the responsible citizen of this country we should also see to it
that we design products in such a way that it supports better recycling and at a same time we should
see that plastic is not littered.
We are assured that the scope of Plastic Industry seems to be very bright and society oriented in the
coming future and proving to be more and more advance day by day. As few months left to the end
of this year, we intend to put our best of output to contribute to the growth of Plastic Industry.

This month as well we have done campaign associated by Government of India, The Government
of India ran a massive coastal cleaning campaign “Swacch Sagar, Surakshit Sagar(clean coast, safe
sea)” along India’s entire coastline in collaboration with voluntary organization including student
from various school and colleges which culminate on "International Coastal Clean-up Day" (17th
          September 2022).
AIPMA has joined hands with KESHAV SRUSHTI and MY GREEN society to be a part of this
humongous campaign. AIPMA’s President, Members of managing committee and staff actively
participated in this campaign at Uttan – Keshav Srushti, Girgaon Chowpatty, Shivaji Park - Dadar,
Versova beach and Juhu beach were chosen for cleaning. We worked with other groups of people to
dispel misconceptions about plastic. Some of the images (photos) from this campaign is shared on
          the following pages.
