platforms can bridge the gap between Indian manufacturers and international buyers.
AIPMA’s ambition of taking Indian plastics end-product exports towards US$50 billion is bold, but nec-
essary. Achieving this target will require thousands of Indian entrepreneurs, not merely a handful of
large exporters, to become global suppliers.
The government is creating a supportive policy environment, FTAs are opening markets, and institu-
tions are building the export ecosystem. The industry must now act. India should not wait for the world
to discover its manufacturing capabilities. Rather, it must take those capabilities to the world.
Lucknow can mark the beginning of that larger movement, with Uttar Pradesh emerging as a strong
contributor to India’s plastics export story. The time has come to move from export potential to export
performance.
