After Ms. Mercy Epao's address, other distinguished
guests, including Shri Manish Dedhia, Shri Kamal
Nanavaty, Shri Arvind Mehta, Shri Hiten Bheda, and
Mr. Ravish Kamath, addressed the audience. They
emphasized that plastic recycling is a rapidly grow-
ing industry and highlighted how GCPRS will drive
business and future growth in the sector. They also
stressed the importance of plastic circularity in re-
ducing environmental impact and fostering a circu-
lar economy, encouraging collaboration and innova-
tion to achieve these goals.
Inauguration of the “Plastic Experience Centre” By Ms. B. CEO Roundtable Discussion
Nivedita Shukla Verma The discussion, attended by over 200 industry lead-
ers under the chairmanship of Shri Deepak Mishra,
Joint Secretary of the Department of Chemicals and
Petrochemicals, Ministry of Chemicals and Fertiliz-
ers, emphasized the critical importance of transi-
tioning to a circular economy for plastics. The dis-
cussion was centred on the regulation in the plastic
industry and its future. It highlighted the need for
innovation in recyclable materials and the reduction
of single-use plastics to achieve sustainability goals.
The discussion called for collaborative efforts in es-
tablishing clear regulations and promoting environ-
mentally responsible practices to ensure a greener
future.
The Plastic Experience Centre was the highlight of
the entire conclave. It vividly showcased the history
of plastic and demonstrated its crucial role in our
daily lives. The centre presented various scenarios
where plastic products are indispensable. It also il-
lustrated how industries such as automotive, phar-
maceuticals, and electronics rely heavily on plastic
for their growth and development.
