ance to End Plastic Waste talked about the mandates and challenges for the Recyclates to complete
with virgin material.

This was followed by the brief remarks from the CEOs present for giving a direction to the future of
recycling.

Special thanks to Ambassador Deepak Vohra and Major General Sujeet Patil for gracing the occasion.
For the first time a very senior officer from the Indian Army attended the event and explained how the
plastics waste awareness and handling the waste is being tacked by the Indian Army at 302 stations
in far off areas of the country.

The Round Table was attended by 206 leaders from the Plastics Recycling value chain. When the
ideas and insights exchanged during the forum are translated into actionable initiatives, they will sig-
nificantly contribute to the growth, sustainability, and global competitiveness of the recycling industry.

Shri G Venkatesh, Joint Secretary DCPC summed up the round table discussions. He said that he has
taken note of the GST issue for leveraging it for the growth of Recycling and requested for a detailed
note to be submitted to DCPC on this. He was very forthright that littering is a problem of attitude and
the meaning of lettering differs from person to person. He emphasized on the need to create aware-
ness through the school syllabus rout and stringy suggested that GCPRS should take up Ministry of
education to include the attitude and littering issue in school syllabus. He also said that many speak-
ers talk about future of recycling but we need to look at what can be done in present to tackles the
situation.

Sustainability Forum was held from 2.00 to 4.00 pm
on the 3rd and 4th of July. On 3rd July, there was a
presentation by Eco Regis on certification process
to certify the claims being made by brand own-

On 4th July knowledge sharing, Mr Udit Arora gave an update on the discussions so far on the UN
treat on plastics pollution in last three years. Mr Jan Hanke talked about the ISCC certification process
being done by the across the globe and major companies in India who have adopted ISCC.
