AIPMA AT WORK

UP MSME and Export Promotion Policy
The conference also covered Uttar Pradesh's MSME and Export Promotion Policy and its role in
creating an enabling environment for plastics and packaging exports.

           AIPMA Vision 2030
Due to paucity of time, the presentation planned by Shri Arvind Mehta was not presented and he
           promised to share his paper.

The presentation of AIPMA Vision 2030 had the following highlights: Building India's Plastics & Packaging
Industry into a $50 Billion Export Powerhouse. The vision seeks to transform India's substantial
manufacturing base into a globally competitive export ecosystem, with MSMEs playing a central role.

The broader message was that India already possesses many of the ingredients required to become a
global sourcing hub. The next phase requires focused market intelligence, international certifications,
technology and automation, skills, digital marketing, stronger buyer connect, competitive logistics
and consistent quality. FTAs and government support can open doors, but Indian entrepreneurs must
convert market access into sustainable and repeat business.

           Key Take aways
From domestic manufacturing to global sourcing: The Indian plastics industry needs to make the
transition from primarily serving the domestic market to becoming a significant global supplier.

Uttar Pradesh can become an important export centre: The state's manufacturing base, MSMEs,
infrastructure, improving investment environment and ODOP ecosystem provide a strong foundation.

MSMEs will drive the transformation: With the overwhelming majority of India's enterprises being micro
and small enterprises, enabling MSMEs to become exporters is critical to achieving the national export
           ambition.

Market-led manufacturing is essential: The industry needs to move from manufacturing products
first and searching for markets later towards identifying global demand and developing products
           specifically for those markets.

Quality and certification are as important as cost: Global buyers seek reliability, consistency,
documentation, traceability, certification and timely delivery—not merely low prices.

Technology and AI will enhance competitiveness: Automation, robotics, AI, smart manufacturing and
digital transformation will increasingly determine productivity and global competitiveness.

Sustainability cannot be ignored: Plastics remain essential to modern life, but recycling, circularity and
sustainable materials must become integral to the industry's growth strategy.
